Honest limitations

This is a data hub, not a docking station. The USB-C connector must be a data port — some laptop and phone sockets are wired for charging only, and this hub will not work on those. Can I run an external hard drive from it?

Yes. The hub supports USB 3.1 Gen1 speeds of up to 5Gbps, which is enough for external hard drives and SSDs. Bear in mind the 5Gbps is shared across all four ports, so transfers will be slower if you are copying from several drives at the same time.

Does it output to a monitor?
