Honest limitations

The HDMI output relies on your laptop’s USB-C port supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode. Most modern laptops do, but some budget models and many phones have USB-C ports wired for data and charging only — on those, the USB, Ethernet and card slots will still work, but video will not. Check your manufacturer’s port specification if you are unsure.

Note also that this is a single-display hub: there is one HDMI output, so it will not drive two external monitors. If you are building a dual-screen setup, pair a direct USB-C to HDMI cable with a USB-C to DisplayPort cable instead.
